My name is Bella Ballerina but you can call me Bella for short. I am a sweet old girl who was found living under a house for far too long! I've been living with a foster family and I'm getting more confident every day. When you walk into the room you may not see me (I'm excellent at finding hiding spots) but my purr will give me away every time. When I'm super happy it gets so loud I sound like a wild cat. Once you find me, I will often come out and say hello and for a little head smooch. I'm a bit scared of heights so you'll never see me jumping, even if it's only to get on the couch.
I do get a bit spooked if there are loud noises so I'm best suited to a quiet home with no other pets. I know once I find my furrever home I will come out of my shell (and hiding spots) even more. I'm a morning cat so if you want to come and meet me it's best early in the day when I'm feeling more adventurous. I do need medication, but I absolutely love wet food, so if you crush the tablet into the food I will gobble it all up.
Come and meet me at my foster home in Innaloo; foster mum will give you the details of how to care for me - and how beautiful I am.
Bella Ballerina has hypertyroidism which means she has overactive thyroid glands. Thyroid hormones help control the body's metabolic rate and cats with hyperthyroidism tend to burn up energy too rapidly and typically suffer weight loss despite having an increased appetite and increased food intake.
Bella Ballerina is on medication and she must take her correct dosage every day, it is important that she does not miss a dose.
Under the Animal Support Program Bella Ballerina is entitled to free medication and free vet consults in regards to her hyperthyroidism at the Cat Haven clinic. She will need to be booked in for a consult to have blood tests done mid-June to monitor her progress and she will require blood tests every 6 months to review her condition and see if any adjustments to her medication are needed. This will be covered by the Animal Support Program.
To meet me in foster care please contact our foster care department on:
The foster carer will then be in touch to discuss this further and arrange a meeting. If after leaving your details you have not heard from anyone after 48 hours, please let us know. Once you’ve decided to give a foster cat or kitten a furrever home you’ll need to come to Cat Haven in person to complete the adoption paperwork before taking them home. We can’t wait to hear from you!
