When I first arrived at my foster house I wanted to have my own space and hiding place. I needed until the afternoon to feel confident to come out and say hello. I like being independent and doing my own thing, but I also like knowing you are around. I like to find a soft space to call my own. At the moment, it's under a desk, on top of a mat with my blanket thrown on top. I will usually come to you for affection, but I also like to rub past your legs or hands, rather than being patted.
I like having a cat scratcher so I don't find a substitution. I occasionally play with small balls or a hair lacky that drops to the floor. I like sitting up high watching the world go by and to wander the house, but I do scare with loud noises or sudden movements. When that happens I retreat to my safe spot.
My fur is soft and black, with some areas a hint of brown. I wake with the sun, asking for breakfast. I love food, any cat food and I eat what you give me in one go. What are leftovers?
I have been patiently waiting for nearly a year for a home to call my own. Please come and see me soon in my foster home in Brentwood.
Ash is one of our special FIV positive cats. This means you need to take extra special care of this handsome man. FIV+ cats have to protect their immune systems - just like humans who have recovered from a health issue. So you will need to ensure he has his annual health check and vaccinations plus regular worm and flea treatments (just as you would for any cat). In support of our lovely FIV+ cats the annual vaccination is free at the Cat Haven Vet Clinic. To protect both him and other cats Ash needs to be an indoor cat and, unless you have another FIV+ cat, he needs to be your one-and-only feline fur-child.

The foster carer will then be in touch to discuss this further and arrange a meeting. If after leaving your details you have not heard from anyone after 48 hours, please let us know. Once you’ve decided to give a foster cat or kitten a furrever home you’ll need to come to Cat Haven in person to complete the adoption paperwork before taking them home. We can’t wait to hear from you!
