Cat Haven is committed to supporting cats and the community by proactively engaging with the media.
Throughout the year Cat Haven initiates a series of media campaigns. The campaigns aim to acheive positive outcomes such as the rehoming of pets, raising awareness of what Cat Haven does and how people can help, educating the community and providing advice on a range of cat related topics.
During 2009 Cat Haven launched its first ever media and communications Christmas campaign. 12 older cats that would normally have limited chances of finding new homes during the Christmas period were profiled in the media. Following media exposure and support from the public, every single one of the adoptable cats was rehomed. Cat Haven looks forward to more positive outcomes in 2010.
