This year Cat Haven and Dogs Refuge Home have banded together to host their annual fundraising events on the same day and have many exciting activities planned for you.

Cat Haven Operations Manager Roz Robinson said the two animal shelters are located on Lemnos Street, Shenton Park so people can visit both and partake in the wonderful activities they have planned.

"The two events are a great opportunity for parents to relax, children to meet the animals, people to adopt pets and receive special giveaways and basically anyone to enjoy a really great day," Ms Robinson said.

"There will have be lots of stalls with cakes, plants and Christmas gifts as well as raffles, prizes, sausage sizzles, auctions and more."

Highlights at Cat Haven include a visit from some of the Perth Wildcats players, a kids corner with heaps of fun activities including face painting and the arrival of Santa at mid day.

Dogs Refuge Home will have dog hydro baths, a lucky door prize, jumble sales and a coffee van.

The fundraising events come at an important time of the year as both charities prepare for onslaught of many dumped pets over Christmas.
