Princess Xena

Hello everyone! My name is Xena and I'm nearly 2 years old. I came to the Cat Haven by no fault of my own when my owners couldn't look after me anymore. Being at the shelter made me sad and scared, but now I'm in foster care and I'm much happier. The first couple of days at my foster home, I hissed when anyone came near me. After a few days I remembered that not hissing and letting people pat me is awesome! Now I absolutely love it when my foster mums give me pats and chin scratches, I purr really loudly and rub myself all around them. I'm also getting more comfortable being in other rooms of the house (for the first week I mainly stayed in the bathroom, where I knew it was safe). I mostly like to chill by myself in quiet places but I will usually let you come and sit with me (as long as there's pats involved!) and sometimes I will join you while you're reading or watching TV. Another thing you should know about me - I'll do ANYTHING for food! If you ever need to bribe me, a treat or snack works every time!
I still get startled very easily and I'm weary of new people, so I really need a nice quiet home. No one knows if I've ever lived with other animals but I think it would be great if I was your only pet, especially while I'm settling in. My foster mums say I'm getting braver and coming out of my shell more and more every day but I'll need a patient and understanding owner who will give me the love, time and space I need to really be myself. I really want this to be my last move, so if you can give me my forever home, please come and meet me at my foster home in Tuart Hill.

Want to adopt me?

To meet me in foster care please contact our foster care department on:

The foster carer will then be in touch to discuss this further and arrange a meeting. If after leaving your details you have not heard from anyone after 48 hours, please let us know. Once you’ve decided to give a foster cat or kitten a furrever home you’ll need to come to Cat Haven in person to complete the adoption paperwork before taking them home. We can’t wait to hear from you!
