Shy but getting braver

Hi, my name is Patches, but my foster parents prefer to call me Scratches, I have no idea why...

When I first arrived at my new home, I couldn't leave my bed!! I was so shy, confused and disoriented. I would have spent there day and night!! But my foster parents have been patient and gentle with me and slowly I grew some confidence. Actually now I love to follow them all the time!

I am still shy though! I don't like to be touched, and I will still run away every single time someone tries to get close to me. But at the same time, I love my parents so much that I will always try to be close to them. I will follow every step of them, but if they try to pet me... I will run away! So kids are definitely not my thing. And probably dogs or other pets as well. Not sure for now.

Anyways, as we said, some key points of my personality are: shy, friendly with whom I know very very very very well, curious, active and playful at night-time.

My favourite things:

- I love food

- I love to catch mozzies and laser beams!

- I love to keep an eye on my foster parents every step they do.

- I love food.

- I love to roll myself in quilts or mats if you leave them on the floor.

- Did I already mention that I love food?

I love to spy my foster parents. They can walk to the toilet, living room, kitchen or bedrooms.. but I will still follow them and checking what they are doing. And if it's something not too risky, I will certainly try to get there and lie down try to have a rest close to them.

My confidence is slowly growing and now sometimes I let my parents rub my cheeks. I am sure one day I will let them pet me. But I hope to find a long term family to grow with - I need an indoor home to protect me from sun damage. You can see more photos of me here. Please come and meet me in my foster home in Palmyra.
