Pursonality TraitsAre you looking for the gentlest, cuddliest and loving-est pet? Then look no further! My name is Boulder and I’m ready to be your new sweetheart. Don't let my name and my rough looks fool you because I'm a huge softie and have a whole lotta love to give. I’ve spent the last little while on the streets - and have the scars to prove it - but I *love* people and am a huge sucker for head scratches. I may be a little shy at first, but all I really want to do is follow you from room to room and hang out for a snooze… and maybe some sneaky brushes or head bumps while we’re together. Even when I get startled by a loud noise or a sudden movement I try really hard to be brave and I’m getting better every day. Once I’m settled in, I’m a pretty chill guy really. Did I mention I’m an excellent conversationalist too? I’ll say hello every time you come into the room and chatter away to let you know how happy I am to see you.
A quiet home would suit me best, but I get on well with my foster parents’ resident cat and think I’d be quite alright with older kids and even dogs or other pets, given the right introduction. Being a boy from the streets, I’m FIV positive and a cat-flu carrier. While this doesn’t affect me much day to day, I might pass the flu on to other cats, so it’s probably best for me to be your one and only moggy. This and my light colouring means I will need to be kept indoors only... But it's much softer and nicer inside anyway!
Have you got room in your home and heart for me? Because I’ve got plenty of room for you! Please come meet me at my foster home in Palmyra.
Boulder has tested positive for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV). FIV is a retrovirus that can compromise the immune system, spread by fighting and deep penetrating wounds. Once diagnosed with FIV, he was thoroughly examined by the Cat Haven Vet Clinic and found to be otherwise healthy. He should lead a normal life despite this diagnosis, but there are a few special considerations that need to be made in regards to his health and well-being long term. These include being an inside only cat; slow and careful introduction to other cats; and annual vaccinations and health checks.
Boulder has a skin condition which has caused severe hair loss and itching in the past. There are a number of different things that can cause this condition, and it can be difficult to determine the underlying cause without specialists testing and trials.
