We can’t wait to hear from you!
Hello humans, I am big boy Kosta, with a grey patch on one eye. It's my permanent pirate look. It matches perfectly with my green coloured eyes. As you can see, I am super handsome with the softest fur, which I am happy to have stroked.
After a few weeks in my current foster, I feel pretty confident and at home and greet whoever comes to the door. I respond well to reassuring voices and come when I am called.
I have a strong play response for a cat of my age. In my current foster, I have lots of toys and things to play with. If you let me, I will play rough, but I do listen if my human thinks I should stop and I respond well to being told no. I just roll away when verbally reprimanded. I also like to suckle into a soft blanket before I sleep.
My foster human has lots of visitors, both adults and children and I am interested in and friendly towards them all. I like to hang around with humans, even the children and will sit next to my favourites and enjoy strokes. I am also happy to sleep away the time if no-one is at home.
I am on a special date of sensitive care biscuits, which I am quite happy to eat. It is for my skin condition which you can read about below. I have had no trace of it in my current foster, so it seems to be managed by my diet.
I don't always get on with other cats and would be happy to be your only cat.
I have been with CH for several months now and have had 2 foster humans who confirm that I am an intelligent cat and a good communicator. My soft meows will tell you when I am hungry or just saying hello. Both my foster humans say that I have LOTS of potential in a safe and loving home.
I am currently in Yokine, if you would like to meet me.
Kosta has been noted to have a small chip in his tooth that was present when he came to the shelter. Our veterinarians have carefully assessed this chip and no further treatment is currently required. He has also presented with a mild case of gingivitis which is an inflammation of the gums. Dental hygiene may help prevent its development. There are several measures you can take to improve your new cat’s dental health. Ask the cat welfare officer who is assisting you for a dental hygiene handout. We have recommended that he stays on a dental hygiene diet.
Kosta has a skin condition which has caused severe hair loss and itching in the past. There are a number of different things that can cause this condition, and it can be difficult to determine the underlying cause without specialists testing and trials. It is not known what causes hiss skin reaction, therefore it is important that you use a variety of preventative measures. Allergic skin conditions can recur throughout an animal’s lifetime and continued treatment/ intermittent medication may be required. If you notice a flare up in your cats condition such as hair loss, excessive licking/ scratching/ skin lesions please take him to your primary care veterinarian, and request a referral for dermatology if the problem is persistent. Cat Haven is not liable for these costs.
Cat Haven does not take any responsibility for any subsequent conditions or issues that may develop in the future as a result of these conditions.
