The foster carer will then be in touch to discuss this further and arrange a meeting. If after leaving your details you have not heard from anyone after 48 hours, please let us know. Once you’ve decided to give a foster cat or kitten a furrever home you’ll need to come to Cat Haven in person to complete the adoption paperwork before taking them home. We can’t wait to hear from you!
My name is Koko, or as my foster mothers sometimes call me, Koko Bean. I also go by Her Majesty, Egyptian Princess, or Cleopatra. I do know my name and will respond when you use it. I am 5 years old.
I was surrendered to Cat Haven due to a change in my owner's living situation, and was not coping well at the shelter. When I found a home with my foster mothers, it took me a while to settle in. I am not a shy cat, but I love having my own space, and am good at setting boundaries where I feel cornered. I am not aggressive but I am super good at communicating what I want. I am independent, and have no issue with being left alone. I like to nap, so this works for me. When I am hungry I am vocal about it, and will herd you in the right direction.
As time has gone on, I feel more and more comfortable in my space and show this through quirky affectionate behaviour. For example to say hello, if you put your face up to mine I will meet your nose with mine each time you do it. I like sleeping in cupboards, or on clothes and beds. I love to rub my head very firmly against my humans and furniture, especially when it's time for breakfast. When I am super comfy, I like to lie against or on my foster mother's chest, side, and legs and purr. I will also pick any spot I like, to lounge like an Egyptian queen or sit at windows and watch the world go by. When I feel like it, a good pet, or especially head scratches, make me very happy. Sometimes, I like to pretend I am a goat and they are my mountain. To play, I am a fiend for hair ties, and turn into an acrobat when there are things attached to strings or lasers present. When I am in the mood to play, you will know because I get the zoomies and like when you get involved. I am partial to specific textures in blankets, which means if it's out I will always take the opportunity to occupy it like a true queen. And like a true queen, I do not like to share space with other felines, at the present time. I am looking for a long term relationship, where you can put in many hours cuddling me, getting to know me, earning my trust, and making sure I feel safe. Once my trust is earned its never lost.
I am excited to find my forever kingdom, and rule with the sass and grace of the matriarchs that have come before me. My foster home is in North Coogee.
Koko has mild dental tartar and associated gum changes. This is very common in mature cats.
Koko has a heart murmur. The murmur has been assessed by Cat Haven veterinary staff as mild (grade three or less) and not likely to cause any adverse effects on her health.Koko has been diagnosed with obesity and it is imperative that you continue to reduce her weight with the advice provided by the Cat Haven, in conjunction with ongoing monitoring and care with your primary care veterinarian.
