Want to adopt me?To meet me in foster care please contact our foster care department on:
Phone:(08) 9442 3600
The foster carer will then be in touch to discuss this further and arrange a meeting. If after leaving your details you have not heard from anyone after 48 hours, please let us know. Once you’ve decided to give a foster cat or kitten a furrever home you’ll need to come to Cat Haven in person to complete the adoption paperwork before taking them home. We can’t wait to hear from you!
Hi, I’m Potato Gem! I’m a 3 year old girl that was found as a stray. That was not a good life for a delicate girl like me.
I recently came to a new foster home so I'm still getting used to this new house and slowly get introduced to the resident cat. I have found a high cupboard to sleep on, which makes me feel safe. I chirp and come down from the cupboard as soon as my carers enter the room, in the hope that they have a creamy treat or some wet food for me. I like to rub myself against them and don’t mind pats and being brushed. I’m a bit fidgety when they pat or brush me but I keep coming back for more. After about 20-30 minutes of pats, brushing and snacking, I’ve had enough and return to my safe high spot for a rest. Later, when the carers return, I'm excited to see them and we do it all over again.
I don’t like getting picked up but I haven’t been here long so my carers have to earn my trust. I also need a quiet home, but I don’t mind gentle children. I loved smooching up to the cats in my previous foster home so should be okay to live with other cats after a careful introduction.
I will need to keep my pale features out of the sun, so an indoor only home is essential.
Come and meet me in my foster home in Tapping.
Potato Gem has sustained long term sun damage to one or both ears, and in some cases the nose as well. Potato Gem has been checked by the Cat Haven veterinarians who decided the changes are so mild that she does not need any treatment at this stage. We recommend that she is kept completely indoors and out of the sun to prevent progression of this condition.
