Purrsonality Traits

Hi there I'm Puss Puss, and I'm a 13 year old little lady. Did you know that female ginger cats make up only about 5 percent of the general cat population? I'm quite talkative even though I am totally deaf and I will occasionally call out to see where you are. I will need to be an indoor and your only kitty as my deafness makes me vulnerable and scared of other cats.

My foster mum says I'm an affectionate, gentle girl who follows her around the house and loves to sit on laps. I also love being brushed so much I'll purr loudly till I fall asleep.

I'm still young at heart as I still go absolutely crazy over catnip toys and that elusive feather wand.

I was adopted from Cat Haven a few years ago, but sadly my owner moved into a rental where she could not have me! She described me as a beautifully natured cat. Do you have a forever home for me? Please come meet me at my foster home in Nedlands.

Health Issues

Under the Animal Support Program (ASP), Puss Puss is entitled to free medication and vet consults regarding the management of her left ear polyp and chronic ear infections onlyPuss Puss came to Cat Haven with a scarred left ear (cauliflower ear) which was the result of chronic ear irritation. We placed her under general anaesthesia so that we could look into her left ear canal to try to identify the source of her irritation. There we found a polyp or growth on her ear drum, which is the source of her ear irritation and discomfort. Due to Puss Puss’s age and body condition, and due to the nature of shelter medicine where funding for expensive and advanced surgical procedures can be difficult to acquire, our vets have decided not to go forward with a total ear canal ablation. It is a specialist surgery which would have to be outsourced to another hospital and may not result in a significant improvement in Puss Puss’s quality of life. If you are interested in pursuing this procedure for Puss Puss after adoption, it would be entirely at your expense.

Puss Puss also has medical waivers for

  • Allergic Skin Disease
  • Heart Murmur (mild, Grade 3 or less)
  • General Dental Disease
