Hi, my name is Merlin, and I'm a beautiful, confident nearly 2 year old boy. When I first arrived in my foster home I was very good at hiding and I could fit in the smallest of spaces, particularly in dark corners where my beautiful black coat would help me hide. Now I like to be out to be out in the open where the action is, especially if there is another cat or my favourite feather toy.
I love almost every food I have been given, and I absolutely love PLAY! After sleeping all day, nothing gets me out like chasing that feather toy. I am still building my confidence up to my human friends, but I enjoy a head and neck scratches, and sometimes I will even begin to purr. I still get a fright if my human comes towards me too quickly, but I enjoy them going about their day around me, where I can watch and make my hoot-like meows. My foster carer says that I must have been raised near birds, as my meow mimics a sort of pigeon-hoot.
I would love a home where I could build my relationship with humans, and ideally have another furry friend to hang out with. I will need a bit of time to adjust, but with lots of treats and hand feeding, I will come out of my shell and start hooting away.
Come meet me at my foster home in Walliston.
Merlin has presented with a mild case of gingivitis. Dental hygiene may help prevent its development.
