Purrsonality Traits

Don't let my rugged looks put you off as I am a sweet 7 year old man.

I used to live on the streets, so living with humans is new to me.  When I first arrived at my foster home I was very nervous. I would hiss at my foster parents (though I wouldn't swipe or bite) and would hide all the time. It took a few weeks for me to get used to them. I didn't meow. I didn't know how to play.

I've come a long way since being in my foster home. I love to chase my toy around now and snuggle up next to my foster parents. I can be vocal, especially when there's chicken around. I have a foster sister, who I get along with. She's not overly interested in me, but maybe that's because I eat her food.

Becoming a house cat has been an adjustment for me and I'm still shy and quiet. My way of asking for something is to sit up nicely and purr. I love pats and chin scratches, but very much on my terms and my instinct is to run and hide, but I'm becoming more confident. I'm looking for a calm home. I need people who will give me my space and let me come to them when I'm ready.

Email Fostercare with your phone number and foster dad will be in contact to arrange a meeting at my foster home in Yokine.

Health Issues

Calvin has tested positive for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV). FIV is a retrovirus that can compromise the immune system, spread by fighting and deep penetrating wounds. He should lead a normal life despite this diagnosis, but there are a few special considerations that need to be made in regards to his health and well-being long term. These include being an inside only cat; slow and careful introduction to other cats; and annual vaccinations and health checks.
