Want to adopt me?To meet me in foster care please contact our foster care department on:
Phone:(08) 9442 3600
The foster carer will then be in touch to discuss this further and arrange a meeting. If after leaving your details you have not heard from anyone after 48 hours, please let us know. Once you’ve decided to give a foster cat or kitten a furrever home you’ll need to come to Cat Haven in person to complete the adoption paperwork before taking them home. We can’t wait to hear from you!
Hello, my name’s Hazza and I’m a young ginger lad who was found by rangers in a car and apparently that’s not a safe place to chill.
I’ve never been keen on humans in the past, and I’m still not quite ready for the human touch. However, I’m starting to trust my human foster mum, she feeds me, chats to me in her funny voice, puts her hand down near me (this used to bother me but I quite like it now) and lets the foster kittens run all over my room, they are so entertaining! I like to watch them and her from my safe vantage point onto of the shower ledge or from the window sill. I still haven’t plucked up the courage to go play with them yet.
I do sleep in my bed or box at night but heights make me feel safe when there are people around. I like to stick to my room and would need a similar set up in my new home, currently my foster mum leaves the door open all day so that the kids and kittens can come in and say hi but she closes me in at night so that I don’t find a place to hide away in the rest of the house, this will only set me back in my quest to be more sociable.
I’m very good at using my litter tray and I’ll eat most food, although I’m still quite private about these things and will only do them at night. I like treats but I’m still not ready to eat from you or in front of you so just leave the bag please. I have slowly started to move around in front of my foster mum, she’s quite impressed with me, slow steps for me and I’m starting to play more and more at night time.
I really enjoy watching the kittens play and I’ve never displayed any kind of aggression towards them so I guess I’ll be ok with other cats as long as we have a nice slow introduction. I’ve also been exposed to a dog, though I peered down on the smelly hound condescendingly, he was so beneath me! I like to take things very slowly, in human terms, we’d have to date at least a few months before taking it to the next level.
If you’re keen on building a relationship on trust and kinda like aloof personalities, I’m your guy. I give the best cat kids slow blinks too! I will need a home where I can minimise my exposure to the sun so that I'm protected from sun damage.
Please come and see me in my foster home in Bassendean.
