Purrsonality Traits

Hi, I'm Bumi and I'm a cool but shy dude that was found as a stray! I'm not super confident at the moment but the more I spend time around people I come outta my shell a little more! I'm 4 years old and have only been off the streets for a short time so I'm still getting used to living as a house cat but I must admit I'm starting to like it!

I'm in foster in North Perth with another boy called Gerald Butler. Read our movie synopsis:

Cue uplifting music....
Tough guys from the streets, we found bromance when we met in our foster home! We both spent some time living rough, and have some tatty ears to show for it. But all that is just a front--it's scary out there, and we're still pretty nervous about a lot of things. We've always been used to looking over our shoulders and not knowing where the next meal was coming from, so it's taking some time to get used to having regular food, treats, and pats! We've bonded over this while hanging out in our bed (underneath foster mum's) where we spend a lot of our time and have become great buddies.

We both love a cuddle and a chin scratch, as long as we're still in our hideyhole! We're in a great foster home at the moment, but are hoping to find a stable, calm, and patient furrever home, where we can finally take the time to get comfortable, feel safe, and come out of our shells.

Health Issues

Bumi has a small chip in his or tooth that was present when he came to the shelter. This is likely due to a a previous trauma. Our veterinarians have carefully assessed this chip and no further treatment is currently required.

Bumi has tested positive for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV). FIV is a retrovirus that can compromise the immune system, spread by fighting and deep penetrating wounds. He should lead a normal life despite this diagnosis, but there are a few special considerations that need to be made in regards to his health and well-being long term. These include being an inside only cat; slow and careful introduction to other cats; and annual vaccinations and health checks.
