Once you’ve decided to give a foster cat or kitten a furrever home you’ll need to come to Cat Haven in person to complete the adoption paperwork before taking them home. We can’t wait to hear from you!
Hi, My name is Flo and I am a pretty, two-year-old girl who came to Cat Haven mid last year after being found homeless. As you can imagine, I didn't have much contact with humans while living on the streets and that’s why I am quite shy around humans. I got adopted last year, however, I didn't make any progress there and that’s why I am back with Cat Haven to learn to trust humans. A few months ago, I moved into my current foster home and here I started to make great progress and now am looking for loving people who will continue to work with me.
I am slowly learning to trust my foster mum, I am now taking treats from her fingers and coming out of my safe spot while she is around. Even though my foster mum still can't pat me with her hands, I love pats with the back scratcher. I will start purring loudly and will demand even more head scratches by rubbing my face against the scratcher. I am very food motivated (as you may have noticed because I am a bit chubby) and I especially love creamy treats, with those you can convince me to come out of my safe spot. I also like to play with my foster mum from time to time, she has this stick with feathers at the end which I like to catch but besides that, I am more of a couch potato although I am still not brave enough to sit on the couch while my foster parents are around but it is just a matter of time until I feel comfortable enough for this.
At my current foster home, I am living with a few cats and I get along with all of them so I wouldn't mind living with other cats in my forever home. I will need a quiet home without young kids because loud noises will frighten me and I still get quite defensive if I feel scared. Due to me being back at Cat Haven for the second time, my foster mum wants to make sure I find my perfect home this time. I am looking for this one special human who will be patient, loving and caring and give me all the time I need to settle in and who is willing to work with me so I can continue to learn to trust humans. Will it be you?
Email Fostercare with your phone details and my foster mum will be in touch to arrange a meet and greet at my foster home in Scarborough.
Flo has mild dental tartar and associated gum changes. This is very common in mature cats. She also has a small chip in her tooth that was present when she came to the shelter. Our veterinarians have carefully assessed this chip and no further treatment is currently required.
