Donate

Your donation means the world to the cats here at Cat Haven.

By donating to Cat Haven, you are directly supporting between 7,000-9,000 cats that we receive annually. Every cat and kitten that comes through our doors is in need of food, shelter, vet assessment and treatment, toys for enrichment, medication, and more.

If a cat is really struggling to cope, Cat Haven will even find a foster home to give them some space to relax and be themselves.

There are many ways you can help Cat Haven!

  • Making a financial contribution (once off or regularly).
  • Donating much-needed supplies.
  • Recycling your containers via Containers for Change, using the Cat Haven account ID.
  • Making a bequest to Cat Haven in your will.
  • Contributing to the long-term plan to increase the capacity of the main site, so that we can house and care for more than 400 cats at one point in time.

Read on to learn more about each of these ways that you could help.

You can donate items that we need, and by sharing our Facebook and Instagram posts to boost awareness of Cat Haven in the community.

We are always in need of:

  • Towels
  • Carriers (fabric or plastic)
  • Blankets for the cats (fleece, knitted, crocheted or otherwise)
  • Paper litter
  • Cat treats
  • Toys

Please feel free to reach out to us if you are interested in donating anything other than the above items. We cannot accept quilts, pillows or fitted sheets currently, as these are not compatible with our cat condo design.

Contact us to discuss what you can donate: admin@cathaven.com.au

Another way you can donate is via Containers for Change.

Your empty bottles and cans can help Cat Haven! 10c is collected from every can/bottle you donate at a registered Containers for Change site. Simply give our Scheme ID at a collection point (C10294441) and the money raised from your recycling efforts will go towards caring for so many cats and kittens.

Leave a legacy behind

If you have ever considered making a contribution that will support cats and kittens for many years to come, please visit our Leave a Legacy page to learn about setting up a will, or securing the safe care of your own beloved cats in the sad event that you are suddenly unable to care for them.

The long-term plan for Cat Haven's main site

We would love to rebuild and improve the capacity of our current site. It so has served us well for over 60 years, but the maximum capacity of 400 cats is no longer sustainable given the growing number of cats and kittens surrendered to us ever year.

We are working towards the goal of fundraising enough to make such changes that would uplift and enhance the current on site facilities and capacity. Any bequest or contribution will help us to slowly make these improvements over time, helping more cats every year to stay alive and rehomed safely.

All of the costs of running our services have to be raised by us each year. We receive just 2-3% of our running costs from government funding, so we are always thankful for the generosity of the public. Any bequests are invested carefully, and the interest is used across our annual budget to cover our running costs where needed.
