By donating to Cat Haven, you are directly supporting the 8,000+ cats that we receive every year. Every cat and kitten that comes through our doors needs food, shelter, vet assessment and treatment, toys for enrichment, medication, and appreciation.

If a cat is really struggling to cope, Cat Haven will even find a foster home to give them some space to relax and be themselves.

There are many ways you can support us!

• Making a financial contribution, either one off or regularly.
• Donating much-needed supplies to our shelter, such as towels or blankets.
• Donating clothing, accessories, and other items to our op shops in Scarborough and Willetton.
• Becoming a foster carer, giving a scared cat a safe place to rest and recover from the stress of a busy shelter.
• Recycling your containers via Containers for Change, using the Cat Haven account ID.
• Making a bequest to Cat Haven in your will.
• Contributing to the long-term plan to increase the capacity of the main site, allowing us to house and care for more than 400 cats at one point in time.
• Sharing our social media posts with your friends and family, to boost awareness and support of Cat Haven.
• Volunteer with us - either in our Grounds team, Op Shops, or one of our other many teams.

You can donate items that we need to care for the cats on site, such as:

• Towels
• Small blankets for the cats (fleece, knitted or crocheted)
• Carriers (fabric or plastic)
• Paper litter
• Cat treats
• Toys

We cannot accept quilts, pillows or fitted sheets currently, as these are not compatible with our cat condo design.

Your empty bottles and cans can help Cat Haven!

For every can or bottle you recycle at a registered Containers for Change site, 10 cents can go to Cat Haven. Simply quote our scheme ID (C10294441) at a collection point. You can read more about Containers for Change by clicking here.

Leave a legacy behind

If you have ever considered making a contribution that will support cats and kittens for many years to come, please visit our Leave a Legacy page. This page has information about setting up a will, and how to secure the ongoing care of your own beloved cats in the sad event that you are no longer able to care for them.

Any bequests received by Cat Haven are invested carefully, and the interest generated is distributed across our annual budget, to cover our running costs where needed.

The long-term plan for Cat Haven's main site

We would love to rebuild and improve the capacity of our current site. It has served us well for over 60 years, but with more cats and kittens surrendered to us ever year, the maximum capacity of 400 cats is no longer sustainable.

We are raising funds so that we can commence a major uplift and enhancement of our on site facilities. Every bequest and contribution helps us to make these improvements more quickly, helping more cats every year to stay alive and rehomed safely.
